A Nobuie iron tsuba. Early Edo period

Of mokkô shape with thickened irregular rim. Carved with rinbô and flower-filled shokko pattern on a roughly hammered ground. Signature Nobuie. Fitted into a placque covered with kosode fabric with matching cushion, in a round black lacquer box with a carved and gilt kiri mon on the lid and a long inscription on the reverse. Brokade bag (shifuku).
