A Louis XV writing cabinet

Rosewood and palisander veneer on oak, ormolu mountings, (replaced) gilt embossed leather, red and white marble. Fall-front writing desk with two-doored cabinet below on short serpentine supports. The writing compartment with six drawers and five pidgeon holes in a tiered arrangement. Decorated on three faces with fine heart-shaped rosewood veneers. Minor losses to the veneer, restored earlier insect damage. H 128.5, W 97.5, D 42 cm.
