Ferdinand Barbedienne foundry, model by Ferdinand Levillain, last quarter 19th C.

Ferdinand Levillain (Passy 1837 - 1905 Paris) was a sculptor, medal maker and medal engraver. He made his debut at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1861 and exhibited there until 1903. After the end of the war in 1871, Levillain began collaborating with Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810 - 1892), which resulted in numerous successful designs, primarily vases and bowls in the ancient Greek style.
