A Bolsward silver beaker

Tall, tapering beaker on a moulded basal ring. Decorated with engraved fruit garlands and birds surrounding three scrollwork cartouches with scenes of Adam and Eve with the snake, Christ and the Samaritan woman, and the flight into Egypt. The lower section with birds on brackets. Inscribed to the base "JPPG Simckes Ende Houck Jacobs sin Wief", dated 1651 and with two vacant shields. H 13.1 cm, weight 148 g.
Maker's mark attributed to Jan Sjoerds, 1644.
