A small woven bamboo and rattan ikebana basket by Maeda Chikubôsai (1917-2003)

Of ovoid shape with openwork hexagonal plaiting which becomes narrower at the shoulder and mouth. Signed Chikubôsai kore saku. Bamboo tube. Tomobako, the inscription to the lid reading Uroko-ami tsubo katachi kago, the reverse signed Chikubôsai tsukuru kore and sealed Chikubôsai.
