A large Satsuma vase. Around 1880

Of square cross section, the body of flat heart shape, with flaring foot and neck, painted profusely in gold and enamels to one side with Kannon Bosatsu, two rakan and a child and to the other side with men and women dancing, to the sides stylised flowers on a very small seigaiha ground, to the foot and neck textile patterns. Chip to two corners of the foot.
