The outside of kiri wood, the lid with an itinerant monk on a slope inlaid in lead and mother-of-pearl, above him a three-quater-moon of silver, black lacquer to the inside, the reverse of the lid with a tokusa field and a bundle of harvested tokusa with a sickle. The tray with suzuri and water dropper missing. On the lid inscribed Hôkyô Kôrin and sealed Hôshuku (all characters barely legible).
