A yatagan. Ottoman Empire. Early 19th century

The slightly curved blade of steel, the back of the blade with mid-ridge and narrow fuller on each side, the grip of walrus ivory with typical 'ears', wide tang and bolsters of steel. All steel parts decorated with scrollwork in koftgari, on the blade Arabic inscription.
