A black stone Jain stele of a tirthankara. India, Karnataka. 12th/14th century

The unidentified tirthankara stands in the kayotsarga meditation pose with hands hanging down on a small lotus and an undecorated socle with a six-armed and a two-armed yaksha standing to the left and right, above the tirthankara's head a small stepped canopy, two pillars support the gable surmounted by a kirtimukha.
