A gilt and polychromed wood stupa (mChod-rten) on a lion throne. Tibet, 19th century

The square recessed base with lion reliefs, on four sides of which two lions flank the triratna symbol (Three Jewels of Buddhism buddha, dharma, sangha), rises the dome with a niche for a cult figure. At the side of the spira is a double decorative garland, crowned by the sun-moon symbol and a jewel at the end.
