A Berlin KPM porcelain butter dish from the dinner service for Princess Louise of Prussia and Prince Frederick of Orange-Nassau

Unidentified octagonal model. Decorated with a wildflower garland around the lip, framed by a gold band and Classical tendril motifs. Blue sceptre mark, brown imperial eagle mark, black painter's mark, pressnummer 16. A restored rim chip between the pink chrysanthemum and the yellow ranunculus. H 4.9, W 30.3 cm.
1825.

Princess Luise of Prussia received a dinner and dessert service comprising of 50 place settings from her father on the occasion of her marriage to Prince Frederick of the Netherlands on 21st May 1825. Another of these rare vessels was offered by Lempertz Berlin in auction 1084 on 3rd May 2017 as lot 127.
