A possibly French late 19th century blackened iron platinum pearl and diamond locket pendant.

Oval blackened iron pendant glazed on the reverse and decorated with finely chased Renaissance style platinum inlays. The central oval motif set with nine rose-cut and cushion-cut diamonds (central stone c. 0.18 ct, in total c. 0.70 ct; J-L, vs-si), and a small pearl bouton (diameter c. 5.61 mm). The mobile droplet with a pearl of c. 8.5 x 5.44 mm. Corresponding bail set with rose-cut diamonds. No hallmarks. 7.0 x 4.0 cm. Weight 41.65 g.
