Vernis martin with varnished oil painting on papier maché; tortoiseshell lining. Round box decorated in the manner of Boucher with fluffy clouds, Cupid with a dove on the lid and a quiver on the base. With moulded gold mountings. Indistinct Parisian hallmark, possibly that of Julien Alaterre (1768 - 1774). H 2.5 cm. Diameter 5 cm.
