A silver pomander

Spherical body on a round, tapering base; engraved throughout with acanthus and stylised blossoms. The screw-in carrying handle holds together six hinged segments with small sliding lids, each engraved "KANEL", "SCHLAG", "ROSMARIN", "MUSCAT", "ROSEN", "NEGELKEN" and numbered 1 to 6. The screw-in foot with fixed spoon in the pomander column and six soldered silver beads; the monograms "TS NS" engraved on the underside. H 5.8 cm, weight 79 g.
Unmarked, presumably Southern Germany, 17th C.
