A silver gilt Nuremberg Baroque tankard

Moulded base supporting a vessel of hexagonal section with scroll handle. Decorated on each face with engraved fruit garlands and repoussé lobes with auricular motifs. The domed lid with corresponding decor, bifurcated thumbrest and scroll finial. H 17.5 cm, weight 428 g.
Marks of Georg Rötenbeck, 1634 - 1641.
