A Gothic Revival Cologne silver cross

Six-lobed base engraved with Gothic ornament and bearing three medallions engraved with depictions of saints, labelled "St. Petrus", "St. Jacobus" and St. Vincent v. P." Two-sectioned shaft with a central compressed node applied with two enamelled rotuli supporting the large crucifix, the beams of which decorated with Gothic tracery and terminating in depictions of the Evangelists. The central, gilt Corpus Christi crucified with four nails and with enamelled halo and INRI plaque. H 67.5 cm, weight 1,441 g.
Marks of Franz & August Wüsten, 1902 - 1906.

The official gazette for the administrative district of Cologne of 1861 indicates the appointment of Jacob Broichmann as head teacher of the parish school of St. Peter.
