A museum quality pair of Bruges silver candlesticks

Square bases with indented angles finely engraved with strapwork supporting angular baluster-form shafts with vase shaped nozzles. The bases engraved with the coat-of-arms of the Bruges Laurijn family. 16.2 cm, weight 737 g.
Unidentified maker's mark resembling a conjoined monogram or stylised plant motif, Bruges, 1718/19.

An ostensorium by this maker is housed in the Beguinage of the Benedictines in Brussels, and a pair of ewers in the church of Notre Dame in Damme.
