A Brussels silver coffee pot

Baluster-form vessel with pointed spout and ivory handle on three scroll supports. Decorated throughout with repoussé laurel festoons and finely chased acanthus reliefs at the bases of the feet. The domed hinged lid with an acorn finial. The display side emblazoned with the crowned coat-of-arms of the Belgian noble family Clément de Cléty with the Royal Order of the Lion and the motto "PLUTOT MOURIR QUE TRAHIR". H 35 cm, weight 1,117 g.
