A Meissen porcelain teapot with merchant navy scenes

Decorated with finely painted harbour scenes in iron red and purple cartouches surrounded by insects, birds and "indianische blumen". Blue crossed swords mark, dreher's mark of Johann Daniel Rehschuh or Johann Christoph Pietzsch. The gilding retouched. Re-inserted/restored triangular breakage on the side with the large parcel in the centre. The lid not original, made to fit, with a cut rim. H 9.1 cm, H with replaced lid 10.5 cm.
Around 1735 - 39, decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold.
