A fine fire-gilt bronze of a Green Tara (Shyamatara). 16th/17th century

Seated in lalitasana on a double-lotus base with beaded edges, the right foot resting on a lotus issuing from the base. The right hand held in vitarkamudra, the left hand in varadamudra. The face rendered with a benevolent expression accentuated with downcast eyes and a gentle smile. Inscribed to the closed base Da Qing Yongzheng nian zao.
