Two blue and white rouleau vases. Qing dynasty, 19th century

Continuously decorated with groups of scholars in a garden devoted to the "Four Arts" (siyi). These include painting, calligraphy, playing the zither and the strategic board game Weiqi. On the neck of each vase, a pair of flying cranes in a cloud under a zigzag border. On the base apocryphal Kangxi six-character marks in a double ring in underglaze blue. (2)
