A patinated copper panel by Ogawa Eihô (1896–1990)

Carved in katakiri and engraving with two turnips (kabu) and greens. Signed and sealed Eihô. In Japanese frame. Tomobako, inscribed on the lid kabu gaku and signed Eihô saku and sealed Eihô on the reverse.

A Niigata Prefecture artist noted for his hammering and metal carving, Ogawa Eihô studied under Itô Katsuhide. After the war, Eihô was an exhibitor at the Nitten and served as the president of the Nihon chokinkai (Japan Carving Association)
