A four-case inrô. Late 18th/19th century

Displaying chrysanthemums growing by the sloping and partly rocky bank of a river, in gold takamakie and hiramakie, very small kirikane, the blossoms in brown and black lacquer, some of them covered with silver foil (a little flaking), all on nashiji. Signed Yamada Toyoyoshi saku. Tiny metal ojime and two-part lacquer manjû with textile patterns in makie and red and black lacquer, signed Shôzan.
