A Singhalese heavy copper alloy figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. Late Kandya period (1480-1815)

Standing, the right hand is raised in abhayamudra, the left hand lowered and grasping the hem of the robe. The very small head with long protruding ears is crowned by a flame (siraspata). The uttarasangha is covered with fine undulating folds, the antaravaska is visible at the lower hem, the sanghati is placed over the left shoulder. Set into a round base.
