A French Neoclassical 18k gold enamel pearl and shell cameo garland necklace.

Delicate four-stranded necklace with four oval transluscent shell cameos finely carved with heads of maenads coloured to appear like sardonyx. Surrounded by blue enamel borders and small Oriental pearls and connected by rosette link chains and cable chains interspersed with seed pearls. Rectangular clasp with corresponding enamel and seed pearl decor. Hallmarks: Parisian "tête de coq" petite guarantee. The edge of one cameo restored, dotted solder repairs to the reverse. L 38 cm.
