A Silesian parcel gilt silver beaker and cover in a fitted case

Tapering beaker with moulded rim, the display side embellished with a repoussé medallion depicting a Protestant cleric receiving a laurel wreath from an angel. Engraved "Nexuit Hanc Fratrum Pietas / Manet Optima Caso" and dated 1748. The domed lid with corresponding decor and acorn finial. In the original gold embossed leather case. H 17 cm, weight 224 g.
