A large famille verte wall cistern. Kangxi period (1662-1722)

Pear-shaped body with flat back, spout in the shape of a lion mask with gilt European brass crane, triple domed lid with a bud-shaped knob. Decorated with three court ladies and a child on a terrace, in the background flower vases, books and scrolls and a man on the balcony of a pavilion. Old paper labels from Bernheimer, Munich, and Christie's. Rest.
