A light boxwood netsuke of two karako. Second half 19th century

One of the two Chinese boys stands on an elaborately carved small table and holds a bouquet of flowers including peonies and cherry blossoms, whilst the other boy stands next to the table and pulls his friend's sleeve. Both karako wear sleeveless coats adorned with takaramono rendered in ukibori and displayinhg kakuregasa and kakure mino, shippō, chōji and fundō. Signed Masatsugu with kaō in ukibori.
