The annunciation to the shepherds
Sursee-Beromünster school, Switzerland, third quarter 18th C.

Glass panel painted on reverse in opaque and transparent pigments. Painted softwood frame, H 34, W 26.5 cm.

This painting reproduces a mirror image of an engraving by the Flemish engraver Egidius Sadeler (1570 – 1629), who in turn published a painting by Jacopo Bassano (1510 - 1592).
This lot includes the original print.
