Smooth rectangular bezel with chamferred edges, set with a pale brown and white layered chalcedony (26.2 x 18.3 mm) finely carved with a bust of Alexander the Great with the horns of Ammon in a beaded surround. Hallmarks: Old, worn down hallmarks. Modern French gold import marks. Bezel 2.9 x 2.1 cm. Weight 8.52 g.
Early 19th century.
