A Baltic silver tureen

Bombé-form oval vessel with hinged handles on four finely chased paw feet. The slightly domed cover with four further feet allowing it to be used as a bowl. Monogrammed "O.v.D." on the underside. Gilt interior. H 12; W 23; D 15.5 cm, weight 1,026 g.
Dorpat, marks of Christoph Gottfried Berg, around 1750.
