A model of an adorned horse. Northern Wei dynasty, 6th century

Naturalistically modelled, standing on a rectangular base. Saddled and bridled with a removable pigtail from the mane. The harness is decorated with rosettes, conches and other ornaments, with tassels at the throat and saddle. Traces of black, malachite green and brick-red pigment on the white engobe, accentuating the hair, saddle and ornaments. Rest.
