A four-case inro by Tatsuke Takamasu. Late 18th century

Displaying a scholar in a cottage underneath trees on one side and bare trees along the banks of a creek with clouds in the sky on the other side, in takamakie, hiramakie and black lacquer on a spare nashiji ground, the cord runners in gold makie. Nashiji and fundame to the inside. Signed Tatsuke Takamasu saku. Restored. Inside a paper inscribed "Inro u. Netzuke von Vater." A striped glass ojime and a stag antler ryusa-manju carved with a flying bird and a crescent moon surrounded by clouds, the eye of black horn.
