A fire-gilt bronze figure of Buddha Amitayus. Qianlong period, around 1770

The Buddha of infinite life dressed as a bodhisattva and seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular base borne at the corners by stylised vajra and covered partly with a long cloth centred with a lotus, the hands in dhyanamudra formerly held the kalasha, the body adorned with jewellery and a five-leaved tiara. The inside with engraved Chinese characters. Weight 1.47 kg.
