A silver gilt musical box in the Baroque taste

Vermeil harp on a round plinth with tripod scroll feet, the finial formed as an allegorical female figure. Fine chased and relief applique decor throughout in the style of the 17th century. Set with seed pearls and small amethyst cabochons. The round movement (unopened, with rosette-shaped studs, one the off-switch) signed "Reuge St. Croix". Two amethysts replaced with drilled garnets. H 20.4 cm.
