A very large Sukhothai style bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. Thailand. 19th century

Seated in meditation on a double lotus above a plain base, the right hand in bhumisparsa mudra, the left hand is held above the feet, the ushnisha surmouted by a ketumala in shape of a flame. The eyes of mother-of-pearl with eye pupils of black glass. With a thin black lacquer patina and traces of gold leaf.
