An Islamic mortar

Chased golden brown cast bronze with applied copper studs and red pigment. Of cylindrical form with slightly flaring upper rim. Decorated with two rows of raised teardrop motifs and studded disc motifs. Several short cracks in the upper section, three studs lost, the base with fine signs of wear and usage. H 9.7, D 12.2 cm. Weight c. 3 kg.
