A rare Gothic one-handled mortar with a foliate relief

Cast bronze with shimmering chocolate brown patina. Cylindrical form with flared base and protruding moulded rim. Angular handle. Decorated with three large leaf motifs in bold high relief. Minor cracks to the lower section due to usage. H 17.6, D 16.7 cm. Weight c. 4.1 kg. Includes a T-shaped iron pestle.
Attributed to Nuremberg, 15th/16th century.
