A Renaissance mortar with zoomorphic handles

Thick, golden brown cast bronze with shimmering patina. Of tapering form with thick moulded base and stepped rim. The handles formed as animal heads (possibly dogs) pointing downwards, worn due to usage. Die Handhaben durch Gebrauch berieben. H 11.7, D 17 cm. Weight c. 5.2 kg. Includes a corresponding pestle.
