A three-case inrô. 19th century

Of longish hexagonal section. Displaying the Six Immortal Poets (rokkasen) rendered in gold and silver takamakie-e, hiramaki-e, a little black and reddish brown lacquer, on one side with Otomo no Kuronushi (courtier), Sôjô Henjô (priest) and Ono no Komachi (court lady), on the other side with Kisen Hôshi (priest), Ariwara no Narihira (courtier) and Bunya no Yasuhide (courtier). Nashiji und fundame to the inside. Ribbed copper ojime.
