A wood and lacquer round two-part travelling shrine (zushi). 19th century

One half carved with Aizen Myôô seated in meditation on a lotus flower, holding attributes in his six hands, the other half carved with the treasure vase, surrounded by jewels and four Buddhist ritual objects, inside the vase a loose pearl. The outside covered by negoro lacquer and with two large aoi-mon in maki-e. Metal hinge damaged. Wooden box.
