A Saxon tankard and cover dedicated to Friedrich August I

Cylindrical tankard decorated with a large crowned cartouche containing the Saxon-Polish coat of arms flanked by eagles and trophies. Inscribed above on a banderole with the monogram "F.A.R.P.E.S." (for Fridericus Augustus Rex Poloniae Elector Saxoniae). The original lid with a baluster form finial. The base, rim, and edge of the lid decorated with a tendril-wrapped yellow band. The base cracked. H 25.3 cm.
Circa 1697 to first quarter 18th C.
