A Gothic single-handled mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with dark brown patina. Of tapering form resting on four paw feet from which issue one shorter and three longer angular ribs. With flaring moulded rim and angular, octagonally faceted handle. Some sediment deposits to the interior and exterior, the interior with verdigris and pigmentation, the base of the handle unevenly chased, some minor dents. H 16, D 16 cm, weight c. 3.2 kg.
