A lacquer fubako. 19th century

The longish shape decorated with large medallions filled with blossoming plants (omodaka, aoi, kiri, sakura, hagi and fuji) all in gold and silver hiramakie and black lacquer on a nashiji ground, dense nashiji to the inside, with a thick cord attached to round silver fittings with tachibana-mon in engraving. Inside the lid a small paper label with the old collector’s number 425 in ink.
