A Maharashtra copper alloy figure of Narasimha. Central India. 17th century

Narasimha, Vishnu as a man-lion, sits with crossed lower legs held by a yogapatta band, on a stool above a coiled naga that spreads its seven-headed hood over him, on a rectangular pedestal. The main hands hold lotus and gada, the secondary hands chakra and shanka, on his left thigh sits Lakshmi with lotus.
