A Maharashtra copper alloy figure of Lakshmi-Narasimha. Central India. Early 19th century

Sitting in lalitasana on a rectangular stepped pedestal, the right hand in varadamudra rests on the gada, with the left supporting Lakshmi, who sits on his left leg, in the subsidiary hands chakra and shanka, only the lion's mouth and the jagged stylised mane point to the lion nature of the avatar. Prabhatorana missing.
