Large polychrome lidded jar, Western Han dynasty, around 1st century BC

Of hu-type made of low-fired grey earthenware with horizontal bands in relief and slightly domed lid. On the sides two handles in bronze-style in the form of stylised owl masks. Cold painted with polychrome, chalky pigments with cloud ornaments. Remains of earth.
