A large celadon charger. Ming dynasty, late 14th/early 15th century

With curved wall and a narrow rim. An engraved bouquet of lotus in the centre, tendrils in the cavetto and a wave pattern on the rim. The footring is glazed, at the bottom a curved unglazed circle in which the paste is reddish oxidised.
