The Adoration of the Magi
Veneto or Tyrol, 16th C.

Moulded glass panel painted on reverse in eglomisé technique with gold and silver leaf and opaque and transparent pigments. Retouches, especially to the white. Carved softwood frame with retouched gilding, H 31.5, W 28.7 cm.

This painting was based on an engraving by Philippe Thomassin (1562- 1622) after Federico Zuccari (c. 1540 - 1609), reproduced in reverse.
