Glass panel painted on reverse in transparent pigments. Retouches to the white. Gilded softwood frame, H 31, W 26 cm.

This reverse glass painting follows the print by the Berlin pastel artist and engraver Georg Friedrich Schmidt (1712 - 1775), who in turn reproduced the painting by Nicolas Lancret (1690 - 1743) in reverse. The painting entitled "Par une tendre chansonette" is now in the collection of The Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge.
